Main Menu Sub Menu ‘Teen at the Bean’ Workshops for Success!“Teen@theBean” Workshops for Success is a one-of-a-kind program which provides a venue for teenage boys to hang-out, socialize, and discuss issues in a safe and relaxed environment. Students are attracted or referred to Aish Tamid through an informal word of mouth network thru current and former program participants, Rabbis, School Principals, parents and other members of the community. When appropriate, educational programming and GED options are made available for those who have dropped out of school and drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation services are made available to students and parents, as needed. Each student is provided with opportunitties for College and/or Yeshiva guidance or Career and Employment training. Measurable program objectives include the following: All students are required to participate in an initial intake assessment to capture presenting issues, family, health and educational history and aspirations for the future. Staff members meet together to determine the appropriate course of action for each participant and design an IEP (Individual Education Plan) for each participant. Staff meet one-on-one with 25+ boys weekly and are in weekly communication with hundreds of alumni through group classes, Instant Messaging and Email, providing ongoing support and mentoring. Referrals to affiliated organizations are made when appropriate. There is nothing like “Teen@theBean” in all of Los Angeles and it continues to leave a lasting impression on each student participant. Please call the Aish Tamid office for information on how to attend the next exciting “Teen@theBean.”
