Rabbi Dovid Landesman

Aish Tamid is pleased to announce the hiring of Rabbi Dovid Landesman as the new Director of Education and Administration.

Rabbi Landesman has extensive academic, educational and rabbinical experience to assist Aish Tamid in all of its programs and services, including, but not limited to, the PARDES program.

Rabbi Landesman received his Rabbinical Ordination in 1971 from Mesivta Torah Vodaath and thereafter continued his Rabbincal Ordination studies in Yeshivat Beit HaTalmud, Jerusalem in 1975.

Rabbi Landesman studied at Queens College of C.U.N.Y. and received his Bachelors of Arts in 1970 in American History and his Masters Degree in Educational Counseling in 1972 from Long Island University.

Aish Tamid has no doubt that Rabbi Landesman’s experience as a Captain [res.] in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from 1977 -1996 will also come in handy when working with many of our students. 

Rabbi Landesmans has extensive experience as a Director, Principal and Educator:

1979 – 1993 - Girls’ Town/Or Chadash, Director of Public Relations, Rechasim, Israel

1982 – 1989 - Girls’ Town/Or Chadash Computer Project, Rechasim, Israel
Founder and Director - Created and served as director and chief designer of a school based computer software firm which specialized in the creation of authoring languages for Apple computers. The project was the only firm in Israel that designed and developed software within a school setting. More than 150 elementary, junior and senior high schools in Israel used the Project’s authoring languages and the project became an innovator in the field of desk-top publishing.

1987 - 89 Midrashah Technologit baGalil, Rechasim, Israel
Founder and Director of a post-high school program which was the first seminary to offer graduates of Bais Yaakov high schools an alternative to studies in education. The Midrashah offered degree granting programs in accounting and computer programming in co-operation with ORT and the Israeli Ministry of Labor.

1993 – 1998Midreshet ha-Galil, Migdal ha-Emek, Israel
Director of Judaic Studies and Rebbi - Served as a full-time teacher and co-ordinated Judaic studies program in a high school for gifted Russian immigrant students that is part of Rabbi Grossman’s Migdal Ohr school system. Responsible for development of curriculum, mentoring teachers, counseling students and preparing them for matricualtion exams [bagrut] exams in Talmud and Jewish Philosophy.

1998 – 2006Yeshiva University High School of Los Angeles
Principal - Responsible for all aspects of Judaic studies as well as general studies in co-operation with general studies principal. Wrote and supervised Judaic studies curriculum, created and directed special events programming [e.g., Yom Hashoah, Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut], mentored new teachers, developed and supervised programs to increase student in school, created and supervised budget and all aspects of administration including recruitment and plant management. Counselled students and worked closely with families to make school as safe an environment as possible.
