One of the highlights every year for Aish Tamid is the Aish Tamid Student and Community Career Fair!

For those of you who previously attended, it was a first-of-it’s-kind event unlike any that the Los Angles Jewish Community has ever seen. It was a smashing success beyond any of our expectations!

So far, we have had great feedback from our employers and from the community. Our initial assessment is that an active rotation of 300 people attended the Fair and over 60 interviews were granted from our 48 vendors, many of whom were hiring multiple employees. Many of these jobs will be paying $30K a year and upwards, with one of our students already being offered a $70K job!

Additionally, many employers have reported back to us that significant business to business connections and opportunities were created or forged as a result of the evening. We could have not have asked for more and we will continue to provide follow-up data to the community on the final success of the Fair once all of the interview have been completed.

This fair was also unique in that it was NOT a one night event. The purpose of this fair was to give the opportunity for anyone who might be going through difficult challenges to have a new beginning. We were aiming to help those that have hum-drum low-growth jobs gain not just a better job, but a career. In preparation for the Fair, Aish Tamid sponsored a series of 6 classes/workshops in preparation for the Fair, to teach people basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel) as well as workshops in resume writing, interview skills, and career fair preparation. The purpose of these skills was to provide our students and members of the community with the tools that they needed in order to find a higher paying and better job. We offered free personalized resume help and instructed our students on how one should dress, present oneself, etc. in order to get not just a job, but a career. We were very pleased with the turnout for these classes (70+ student participants) and the amount that our students and the community members gained from them!

It is our hope that the Aish Tamid Career Fair and the Career Fair Prep Workshops will become a regular and ongoing event that is awaited with anticipation every year by the community.

If you need to get more information on our upcoming workshops or on our next career fair, please call the Aish Tamid office.
